Lyrics

verse 1
sun has beaten down against the barn
years neglect left it weathered and worn
inside it's door, i ain't stepped since ninety-one
lies mangled up car reminders of Grandpa's only son
verse 2
out to pasture, moving on, sunny days roll by
milking cows, tobacco fields, Daddy did his time
all year long farming every day, 'cept for tractor pulling nights
God, I love that stable, tractor parks on the right
chorus
Daddy was a cowboy, last of a dying breed
only time he felt at home is climbing on a steel blue steed
Riding more Hell for leather anyone could believe
yeah, Daddy was a cowboy, the last of a dying breed
verse 3
out on the highway, mile markers in my sight
diesel dualie hauling hard, champions through the night
no bars hold, taking reins, asphalt to clay
2000 horses wownd, competition checks bankin' pay
chorus
Daddy was a cowboy, last of a dying breed
only time he felt at home is climbing on a steel blue steed
Riding more Hell for leather anyone could believe
yeah, Daddy was a cowboy, the last of a dying breed
